The numbers at left represent ratings for Persons 12+, Monday-Sunday, 6AM-12M, for the St. Louis metro rating area.

Phase 1 of the Spring 2006 survey period include the last two four-week "phases" of the Winter 2006 book and the first four weeks of the Spring book, which began on March 30 and will conclude on June 21.

The numbers are crunched to provide a "rolling average" that provides subscribers a once-a-month check of their work.

If, for example, a station experiences a significant rise or decline, the station can expect that the next trend report will be correspondingly up or down and can make adjustments. Using proprietary Arbitron information and formulae, they can even extrapolate an approximate future rating.

Phase II will publish on June 26th and the complete Spring Book will roll out on July 24th.

NOTE: 12+ numbers provide only an overview of the marketplace. All rating figures are history.

Corporate 12+ Scorecard: Clear Channel - 23.0; CBS - 17.9; Bonneville - 16.3; Emmis - 12.8; Radio One - 6.8.

Mike's analysis:
First off, the extracted April numbers must have been great for KTRS because the paste-eating moron who does 12N-3PM was actually talking about them on the air! This is a no-no. Presumably Mr. Law had a prayer meeting with Mr. Kramer and that will not be happening again.

KTRS' one-point bump 12+ will probably translate out as the book progresses to a Top 5 ranking. Non-baseball dayparts are on their own.

KMOX is off almost 2.5 points year-to-year and trending down marginally 12+ from the Winter Book but doing better 25-54. What's baseball's target audience?

The Arch is doing much better long-term than I expected, but with the support of an all-out media marketing campaign; the same level of marketing for The River's morning show is augering in and the station continues to lose ground overall. KLOU's up for no apparent reason except that current music sucks in all formats and the sixties are better than nothing. KATZ-FM's trending up 12+ almost a point and even better in demo. KEZK slips from 5th to 8th 25-54.

Hey, it's only a trend...

Watching the baseball move: KMOX up a bit...KTRS tiny movement up...no huge shift in audience at this time. Other observations: Cornbread up...big down book for K-HITS outside of AM drive...The Arch rolls on...despite massive billboard campaign, no movement for Steve & DC...Stern erosion continues at The Point...the McGraw/Kramer combo with a lot of catching up to do...KFTK wins the mid-day talk battle with KMOX in 18-34...KMOX wins the mid-day talk battle 25-54.
